Digital certificates

We use digital certificates to enhance information security. The digital certificate authenticates the user and validates their access to Telstra Wholesale’s online applications. Only users with a valid digital certificate can access our online applications.

There are two main types of digital certificates: primary and secondary.

A primary digital certificate is a piece of software with a password that authenticates customer access to our online applications. Once applications for registration are approved, customers will receive a single primary digital certificate that will allow them to create, maintain and revoke secondary digital certificates.

A secondary digital certificate can have different levels of access depending on the information the holder should have access to.

You can find out more about creating and using digital certificates in our online training module.

Details on managing digital certificates can be found in our Telstra Wholesale digital certificate online training module.
